Fertile Valley Seeds exists primarily to sell the varieties bred by me (Carol Deppe) (author of Breed Your Own Vegetable Varieties, The Resilient Gardener, and The Tao of Vegetable Gardening). These have all been developed for spectacular flavor, vigorous growth, resilience, and adaptation to organic growing conditions. They are the crops and varieties that are the best ones to have if you actually need to live on what you grow, or if you want the most for the least land and labor. I also sell varieties bred by other open-source associated plant breeders such as Glenn Drowns, Joseph Lofthouse, Frank Morton, Jonathan Spero, and Don Tipping, as well as a selection of favorite tried and true workhorse varieties. My seed catalog can be browsed or downloaded from my website www.caroldeppe.com. The order deadline is April 30. I operate as a seed company (fulfilling orders and dealing with seed company correspondence) only January through April. Orders filled in order received. I start shipping in late February and am usually caught up with the initial backlog by the end of March. The rest of the time I’m gardening, breeding plants, and writing. So please don’t expect to order seeds or get questions answered at the seed company email address (or my home address) year round. Allow 1 week plus time in the mail for orders placed March or later. (Earlier orders will take longer as I deal with the backlog.) All the varieties on my list are bred or chosen primarily for flavor and for high vigor and yield when grown under organic growing conditions. All varieties are open - pollinated, either open source or public domain, and non - GMO. All seeds are packed for 2016 and exceed expected germination standards unless stated otherwise. Any liability is limited to the cost of the seeds.
